Suburban mayors react to BlueOval delay
With Ford announcing a production delay at BlueOval City until late 2027, reaction from the Memphis suburban municipalities closest to the project is a mixed bag.
The automotive manufacturer announced last week it is pushing back production of the new electric “Project T3” trucks to late 2027, nearly two years from the originally anticipated start date.
The proposed plant is just north of Exit 42 on Interstate 40 about 25 miles northeast of the three suburbs in northeast Shelby County: Arlington, Bartlett and Lakeland.
