Lakeland mother-daughter duo build business with pop-ups

With dreams of opening a brick-and-mortar location one day, Lindsay Vasaturo, and her 8-year-old daughter, Viviennne, are building their new Belle Haven boutique brand one pop-up event at a time.

The Vasaturos hosted a “grand opening” pop-up at the Oakwood subdivision clubhouse in Lakeland on Sept. 7 and will launch a website later this month. They are even teaming with local business students at Lakeland Preparatory School.

The Lakeland-based business is on a mission to bring the coast to the country.

The Vasaturos moved to Lakeland in December of 2020 after years of living in coastal towns across the country, from North Carolina to Hawaiian islands.

“As a military family, we’ve lived all over the coast,” Lindsay said. Her husband, Vince, is a lieutenant commander in the Coast Guard. “This is the first time we’ve lived inland, and we’ve just fallen in love with Lakeland. Now he is up for retirement, and we’ve decided to stay here. This is kind of my time to live out my dream.”

She hopes to bring the coastal character to the area with a new boutique specializing in women’s and ’tween clothing and accessories, including many locally made products.
