Where to draw the party line? Collierville to review rules after house-party complaints

After Germantown approved rules restricting the kinds of events and businesses in residential areas, its neighboring suburb to the east is working on a similar measure.

Collierville is reviewing its regulations after a noisy event in the Lakes of Forest Hill neighborhood last weekend. The gathering was charging for entry and creating excessive noise and trash, according to Molly Mehner, town administrator.

David Townsend, Collierville assistant police chief, said the department received a complaint Saturday, Dec. 28, about the party and a plethora of cars parked on the neighborhood streets. At least 15 parking citations were issued, some for cars blocking fire hydrants.
