The ownership group behind Side Porch Steakhouse hopes to have their newest venture, the Pharmacy Coffeehouse, open by May at 5875 Stage Road, next door to the restaurant.
The space became available after Regel Pharmacy closed at that location in November after more than 40 years there. Seeing a great opportunity, the Side Porch owners swooped in and bought the 2,400-square-foot building for $300,000.
Co-owners Jan and Jeff Jones are leading the effort to operate such a coffee shop in Bartlett.
“Just a place for people to get together,” Jan Jones said. “So much good can happen when friends come together in spaces.”
She and her family have enjoyed going to different coffee shops in Memphis and the surrounding suburbs over the years as well as elsewhere when they travel.
“We said one day we’ll do that in Bartlett,” she said.
