Former Tiger Tony Madlock leads Alabama State to the Big Dance

Even though Tony Madlock no longer plays or coaches at Memphis, he’ll always take pride in representing the city, the same as Penny Hardaway.

“Memphis is home for me,” Madlock said. “It’s always going to be home. Me and Penny talk two or three times a week. All of my friends are still in Memphis.”

He covered high school sports in Columbus, Indiana for two years before getting his Master’s degree in Sports Journalism at IUPUI. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in journalism from Indiana University.
