Arlington mulls adding 10 cents to property-tax rate

The Arlington Board of Mayor and Aldermen will consider a 10-cent property-tax increase at its meeting on Monday, May 5, and some Arlington elected officials and residents are concerned about it.

Following meetings last week between the town’s Finance Committee and the Board of Mayor and Aldermen, staff is proposing to exceed the certified tax rate by 10 cents to support essential services and capital investments. The hike will lead to a proposed Fiscal Year 2026 property-tax rate of $1.16 per $100 of assessed value.
