After funding went to private school vouchers, Lakeland looks for ways to pay for special education

The Lakeland School System (LSS) is continuing its efforts to secure funding for special needs prekindergarten students.
For the past two years, the suburban school district has asked the General Assembly to fund state-mandated special education prekindergarten programs. With an annual budget for the services of more than $621,000, LSS must use its regular K-12 funding to cover the cost.
