Historic Cordova School was ‘glue that held the community together.’ Now it’s for sale.

Once a school then a community center, the historic Cordova School is now for sale.

The school building/community center at 1017 N. Sanga Road has outlived its usefulness. Maintaining the structure is not feasible, and it is time to pass it on. The nine citizens who raised the $150,000 to buy the school in 1985 have just about all died. While its board still exists, Talbot Berry, 80, the nonprofit’s president, calls himself “the last man standing.”
