The Memphis Tigers have taken one heck of a gut punch.
At this time last week, the Tigers were the No. 22 team in the country and a leading favorite to represent the Group of Six in the College Football Playoff.
A 31-24 loss to UAB last Saturday in Birmingham has moved the Tigers out of the national rankings and has some people wondering if the ceiling for this year has already shifted.
Coach Ryan Silverfield, however, said one loss isn’t going to define the season.
