Germantown schools see fewer students who live in district

Resident enrollment within the Germantown Municipal School District has decreased by approximately 170 students compared to last year, and officials are trying to determine the reason.

At the district’s inception for the 2014-15 school year, there were about 4,200 students who lived in Germantown. During the 2024-25 school year, that number had grown to 5,196. But the district count for this school year is 5,026.

Enrollment numbers can change throughout the year as districts are required to regularly report their student counts.
