After passing its first test, improved Bartlett looking for more
Last season’s opening game for Bartlett was a gut punch. Last week’s opener was a gut check. And one that the Panthers passed with mostly flying colors.
Playing on the road, Bartlett opened strongly against MUS, stayed poised and cool when the Owls made a run and ultimately left Stokes-Alston Stadium with a 37-27 victory that vaulted them into the 12th spot in this week’s Daily Memphian Dandy Dozen.
It was much different — and a whole lot more satisfying — than Ben Bowden’s head coaching debut 12 months ago. In that one, his team led MUS for much of the game, only to lose on a walk-off Hail Mary.
