Binghampton residents hope community land trust will keep housing affordable
Joni Laney, president of the Binghampton Community Land Trust, looks over a blighted house on Oxford Avenue on Oct. 9, 2019. The group purchased the home and hopes to demolish it and build a new one in its place, keeping it affordable for potential buyers who will commit to living in the neighborhood. The Binghampton Community Land Trust has taken possession of a house that has essentially turned into a "treehouse" and plans to demolish and rebuild it for a future homeowner.
