Buc-ee’s has completed acquisition of the land for a new location in Fayette County, and construction could begin before the end of the year.
The new Buc-ee’s — at a cost of $50 million-$70 million — is planned for the northeast corner of Exit 28 on Interstate 40, the first exit in Fayette County east after crossing the Shelby County line.
“It’s going to be a destination place. Fayette County is very proud of it,” Fayette County Mayor Rhea “Skip” Taylor said. “The sales-tax revenue expects to be substantial, and the (200-250) jobs are going to be well-paid.”
