More homes are coming to Bartlett

With a variety of new homes under construction at Union Depot and more residential projects planned around Bartlett, a dearth of new homes in recent years is seemingly shifting.
The city currently has preliminary or final approval for close to 400 single-family homes, 126 townhomes and 1,063 flats/apartment units, the city’s Director of Planning and Economic Development Kim Taylor said.
“Looking at recent trends, applications for new single-family subdivisions have been relatively low over the past several years, and notably, no new apartment developments have received approval in Bartlett since 2004-2005,” Taylor said. “This makes the current approvals a significant shift in our local development pattern and an important milestone for meeting future housing needs.”
