Building an empire, one peach cobbler at a time

The local franchisees of The Peach Cobbler Factory recently announced they would open a third location in Memphis’ Medical District, but that location may ultimately turn out to be their fourth.

“We’ve got one coming on Hacks Cross at Houston Levee that may be open sooner than that,” owner Otis Jackson said.

Otis Jackson and his wife, Janie, are no strangers to entrepreneurship. Otis Jackson launched several businesses over the years, including a trucking company and a security business, a rehabilitation facility, a general contractor and a few multilevel marketing businesses such as Amway and Melaleuca. And he did that all while holding down a full-time job at FedEx for 25 years. He retired from the logistics giant in 2015.
