The Overland restaurant, which opens Thursday, Sept. 19, atop TownePlace Suites in Thornwood Germantown, joins an array of options at the mixed-use development northeast of Germantown and Neshoba roads.

Spence Ray, developer of Thornwood, will own the Germantown restaurant. And the business will meet its anticipated opening date despite a last-minute kitchen cleanup due to the departure of the executive chef a couple days before the first official meal.

Ray is the vice president of McNeill Commercial Real Estate. With his background, he said he realized the importance of food in any development. While Thornwood has several restaurants leasing space, he wanted to open one that is unique.
