The historic dive bar, Zinnie’s at 1688 Madison Ave., reopened on Thursday, Oct. 3, with a new look and menu.
The bar, which temporarily closed earlier this summer, unveiled a menu that features authentic Philly cheesesteaks and Chef Duncan Aiken’s famous scratch bread.
Julien Salley, chief operating officer of Tandem Restaurant Group, which owns the restaurant, said Zinnie’s still has the same heart but has undergone extensive renovations.
The bar, which is now nonsmoking, has new stools, VIP booths, soft seating and a piano donated by Win Bonner, the brother of the late local pianist Lex Bonner, who attended Zinnie’s while in college.
