Food Files: Fuel up at Memphis Filling Station
Memphis Filling Station, or MFS Brewing, which opened in mid-September at 206 G.E. Patterson Ave., is a featured pit stop in Downtown Dining Week.
Downtown Dining Week, Nov. 4-10, celebrates the Downtown restaurant community and the local customers.
MFS Brewing won the People’s Choice Best Brewery this year and last at the Cooper-Young Beerfest for its brews, but there is just as much emphasis on food.

Co-owner and primary head of brewery operations Bryan Berretta said when he and his three other co-owners opened the brewery, he never expected — or wanted — to become a restaurateur.
However, Berretta said he wanted to have food and snacks that were just as great as the beer.
“As much as I didn’t want to be a restaurateur, I’ve actually really enjoyed working with the food,” Berretta said.
