Arlington school board seeks state funding for special education

Arlington Community Schools is taking a proactive approach next year seeking legislation to benefit teachers, students, and public schools across Tennessee.
On Tuesday, Dec. 17, the Arlington Community Schools board unanimously approved its 2025 legislative agenda, which includes advancing teacher pay, providing free breakfast and lunch for students, opposing the controversial school-voucher program, and obtaining funding for special-education preschool programs.
ACS board member and legislative liaison Jonathan Dunn, who put together the agenda with the help of district attorney Valerie Speakman, described this year’s agenda as possibly less defensive than in years past.
