Germantown’s Scott Sanders runs unopposed, pushes term limits and commercial growth

Germantown Alderman Scott Sanders hadn’t planned to seek a third term, clinging to fewer than a dozen signs from his 2022 campaign for Position 1.

When it was clear that Mayor Mike Palazzolo’s retirement would mean a new elected leader in the suburb, Sanders committed to the ballot. Barring a surprise write-in, he will win that third term unopposed in his Nov. 3 reelection bid.

“I thought: ‘Maybe I’ll stay on,’” he said. “I can be helpful in some ways by some continuity being there.”
