While the X’s and O’s of football are what reeled him into coaching, Matt Barnes became more interested in the interpersonal relationship side of it all as he got older.

He covered high school sports in Columbus, Indiana for two years before getting his Master’s degree in Sports Journalism at IUPUI. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in journalism from Indiana University.
