John Martin is a contributing college sports columnist for The Daily Memphian. Martin is a lifelong Memphian who’s covered the Memphis Tigers’ basketball program for more than a decade. In January 2021, there were four licensed sportsbooks in Tennessee and around 230,000 player accounts. As of this month, there are 13 licensed sportsbooks and 1.3 million player accounts.
