A new venue is aiming to bring local Memphians back to Beale Street.
“There are so many people who live 10 or 15 minutes from Beale but haven’t been here in five or even 10 years,” said Carey Martin, the designer and general manager of Docks Off 5th. “Tourism is great, but it’s the locals who carry you through the winter. We’re here to get people back to Beale.”
Docks Off 5th is the second location of the New York-based concept and has officially opened on Beale Street in the space that formerly housed Jerry Lee Lewis’ Cafe and Honky Tonk.
