From Cafe Ole to Cooper’s: A new name, new look and a nod to an emu

For decades, Cafe Ole held down its corner of Cooper Street as a mainstay for Mexican food and margaritas in Midtown. But now, the familiar building has a fresh identity, a renewed energy and a name inspired by an unusual piece of family history.

Welcome to Cooper’s, the newly rebranded live music bar and restaurant that officially opened at 959 Cooper St. at the end of April — and named not just for its corner location but for a rather unforgettable emu.
