Showboats start season 0-2 after loss to Defenders

The Memphis Showboats lost 17-12 to the DC Defenders in their first road game of the season Saturday, April 5, despite holding a slim lead early in the fourth quarter.
Quarterback E.J. Perry scored the first touchdown of the game on a 16-yard touchdown run to give the Showboats (0-2) a 12-9 lead with 11 minutes and 55 seconds remaining in the final quarter at Audi Field in Washington, D.C.
