There’s a lot happening in Memphis this weekend. You’ve got one barbecue fest in downtown Memphis. You’ve got another barbecue fest on Tiger Lane.

And just less than a quarter mile from Tiger Lane, some of the best prep basketball players in the country will all be under one roof as part of the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League.

The second session of the EYBL season starts Friday at 2 p.m. and continues through Sunday at the Memphis Sports and Events Center. It’s the third year in a row EYBL has held a session in Memphis, but this year is notable in that it’s a live session — meaning college coaches are allowed to view the games in person. The only other live Nike session of the year is its prestigious Peach Jam tournament in North Augusta, South Carolina.
