Sneak peek at Memphis football Signing Day commits
Three-star prospect Lamar Fairfax Jr. was committed to Ohio for four months, mainly because the Belleville (Michigan) High defensive lineman liked the MAC program’s proximity to home.
The Memphis coaching staff, however, did enough for Fairfax to flip his verbal commitment to the Tigers on Oct. 12.
“What stands out for Memphis, it’s just like something that Ohio wasn’t doing,” Fairfax said. “They were checking up on me every week. I just like the program and how they develop players.”
Fairfax, a 6-foot-1 and 250-pounder, plans to sign his National Letter of Intent with Memphis when the NCAA’s early signing period opens Wednesday.
