Collierville’s Board of Education voted Thursday, April 3 to purchase land on U.S. 72 for a new bus lot, fixing a noisy nuisance the municipal system inherited from Shelby County Schools.

The existing bus lot is behind Collierville Elementary. The district wants to relocate the fleet of yellow vehicles serving Collierville and Germantown students to nearly 28 acres on the highway, south of Ripley Oaks shopping center. It’s bordered by Nikki McCray Park to the west.
