Collierville shoe store to close after almost six decades in business

By , Daily Memphian Published: May 01, 2025 4:00 AM CT

For nearly six decades, Jackson’s Shoes has helped parents find the perfect fit for children’s feet throughout the area, but the service is coming to an end.

Jackson’s Shoes announced this week the Collierville store in Poplar Market Plaza will close for good at the end of May. It is the last shoe store in the area that focuses exclusively on children and has remained one of the primary stores catering to kids since it opened a Parkway Village location in the mid-1960s.

The lease was up at the end of March, but Mark Jackson, the second-generation owner who has worked at the store since 1978, asked for a two-month extension until the end of May.
