Collierville celebrated the opening of its sixth fire station Tuesday, and answered its first call about 11:15 a.m., providing better service to the southeast portion of town.
“With the addition of the amazing new Collierville High School, as well as other growth in this area, it became very important for (the Board of Mayor and Aldermen) to move ahead with this project,” Mayor Maureen Fraser said.
The town hosted a ribbon-cutting and ceremoniously pushed a ladder truck into a bay before letting the community tour the station visible to those traversing Collierville on Tenn. 385.
