Developer sues Collierville over road

Developer David Halle’s company, Poplar Commercial LLC, has sued Collierville in Shelby County Circuit Court over a town-approved road that connects to his property.
Halle owns the site of the existing Chick-fil-A at 1036 W. Poplar Ave. and the site of Chili’s Grill & Bar at 237 Market Blvd. Both restaurants lease from Poplar Commercial.
When Collierville developed the LA Fitness property at 1088 W. Poplar Ave., it required the exercise company to provide a second access point before adding more buildings. That requirement has prevented development of the vacant lot west of Chick-fil-A. Crews Development recently got approval for a second connection to LA Fitness: a cut-through road to Poplar Marketplace, which Crews owns.
