City Center Liquor, Lakeland’s second package store — and likely last allowed in the suburb until at least 2030 — has opened at Lakeland Town Square on U.S. 70.
The store’s owner, Lakeland resident Cynthia Hudani, has owned and run the Eads Gas & Grill Shell station at U.S. 64 and Collierville-Arlington Road for nearly 20 years. She decided it was time for a transition from the busy station and deli.
“It’s very hectic. It’s very crazy, but I finally got to the point where I slowly stepped away,” she said. “I want this liquor store to kind of be my retirement because it’s calmer.”
