As Lakeland approaches its 50th year as a city, at least one elected official thinks it might be time for a change in the suburb’s form of government.

Commissioner Connie McCarter wouldn’t outline any specifics Wednesday, March 18, about how she would like to change the government’s makeup, but the topic will be part of a Board of Commissioners meeting Thursday, March 19.

The final agenda item will be a discussion and possible action on the issue.
