Ranking French fries, worst to best

Almost everyone loves French fries, but we don’t all love the same ones.

Chris Herrington and I love to rank things, so we took on fries on this week’s Sound Bites. Bottom of the list? Sweet potato fries.

Gag.

The top? Freshly cut and fried. We agree on both these. But there’s some divergence on where to put steak fries. Tater tots. Crinkle cuts, seasoned and waffle fries.

In the end, any French fry — except for a sweet potato fry — is better than none at all. But we have preferences, as surely you do too, and favorite places as well. And that’s something worth knowing: Who makes the best fries in town? It’s not the first time we’ve asked and won’t be the last.

But it’s always important information to have. Have a listen.
