Calvary Waffle Shop is (kind of) back; Michael Donahue and I talk it over

Calvary Waffle Shop is a harbinger of spring, and if there is anything we could use today, it’s a harbinger of spring. Throw in a vaccine and I’ll ask you to make mine a double.
On Sound Bites, my friend Michael Donahue of the Memphis Flyer and I talk a bit about the good ol’ days, those when we could just up and eat at Waffle Shop if we wanted, or grab a bite of sushi on a Sunday night. So we digressed a little.

The important thing is that while it won’t be just the same, Calvary Waffle Shop will be back on Feb. 18, weather permitting. Lunch will be served on Wednesday and Friday 11 a.m.-1 p.m. and dinner on Wednesday 5:15-6:15 p.m. through March 26.
It will be takeout only, and you have to call your order in 24 hours ahead of pickup. The menu will change and you can click here to see it, but favorites such as fish pudding, the Calvary salad plate, spaghetti and Boston crème pie will be available.
(The Lenten Preaching Series will also return in an abbreviated form, and you can also get details by clicking the link above.)
Donahue and I reminisce a little, because it’s hard not to do that with old friends you don’t get to see during COVID, and he recalls the day Waffle Shop had to shut down early for the season last year. Sign on and listen.
