Talking it over: Summer Avenue, part 1

There are worst things to do than drive up and down Summer Avenue, eating here, visiting there, gawking a bit and just digging what a treasure these 10 miles are to Memphis.

That’s what Chris Herrington and I have been doing for the past month or so and now we’re delivering Summer to you for four weeks, a section at a time.

This 31-minute podcast was hosted by food and dining editor Jennifer Biggs with columnist Chris Herrington. It was recorded on Tuesday, June 21 and airs on WYXR on Thursday morning, June 23, at 11.

This week we started at East Parkway and drove west to Highland Street, stopping at a place or two that was new to us, sliding off a block to grab a beer at Hampline on Tillman Street, and adding a list of new places to our personal dining lists that we hope you’ll enjoy, too.

We talk about it on this week’s episode of Sound Bites, so have a listen. You can click here to read the story, so have a read, have a listen, then go back and make your list.

My suggestion? Try them all.
