Huey’s is about to get national attention.
The YouTube series “America’s Best Restaurants” visited the Memphis restaurant Thursday, June 13, to film an upcoming episode at the popular burger chain.
“We are the first Memphis restaurant to be featured,” said Alex Boggs, Huey’s area director. “We are so flattered that one of our customers and fans reached out to have us featured on this show.”
The online show and media company features independently owned restaurants across the U.S., with more than 1,000 episodes filmed to date. The premise of the show is that hosts Theo Williams, Danyel Detomo, Luis Rivera and J Russell travel the nation tasting interesting food, learning recipes and hearing the stories of family-owned restaurants.
While in Memphis, Detomo was treated to some of Huey’s most popular dishes.
“Of course, we featured our world-famous Huey Burger,” Boggs said.
Because the restaurant chain is a family-owned business, it’s no surprise that the shooting was also a family affair. Sisters Lauren McHugh Robinson (Huey’s CEO), Ashley Boggs Robilio (Huey’s president), Samantha Boggs Dean (Huey’s marketing and special projects director), and Alex’s mom, Wight Boggs, all participated in the filming.
The episode’s airing date will be announced in August.
“We are grateful to be featured,” Boggs said. “Being able to feature Memphis and our connections in the Memphis community is an experience we will never forget.”
