Tekila Mexican Cuisine is opening in the former Carrabba’s at 5110 Poplar Ave. in East Memphis, its sixth location.

Tekila, doing business as GDL Poplar LLC, bought the 6,464-square-foot restaurant for $6.8 million, according to the Shelby County Assessor’s registrar.

Owned by Alex Gomez, owner, and Jose Gomez, operator, more information will be released once work begins on the layout — which Alex Gomez said will be a new concept for Memphis.
