Bailey: Book borrowing in Bartlett proves beneficial

Clay Bailey
Clay Bailey, a lifelong Memphian, has worked as a reporter in the city four decades. He concentrated on suburban coverage for the bulk of his career, except for a stint as sports editor of The Daily Memphian when it launched in September 2018. He now is suburban editor and also serves as a freelance sports writer for The Associated Press.
About 18 months after taking its leave from the Memphis Public Libraries, Bartlett’s book building seems to be making strides to show the separation was the right move.
Bartlett became the last of the six suburbs in Shelby County to leave what was once a countywide system. Bartlett held on for a number of years after the others finalized their separate divorces.
