Arlington’s Board of Education chairman responded to remarks made by one of Germantown’s school board members in light of bumping custodial pay. Arlington and Germantown use the same custodial provider.
Germantown is reviewing Superintendent Jason Manuel’s contract so future reviews do not coincide with an election year.
If adopted Tuesday, the change may help Germantown Municipal School District students compete for scholarships. Board member Brian Curry noted that a student earning a 92 might have about a 3 for a grade point average in Germantown. In other districts, it would be a 4.

Jon McCreery, Amy Eoff and Scott Williams have all announced plans to seek office on Germantown's November ballot. Additionally, Sherrie Hicks and Brian Curry have filed petitions with sufficient signatures.
Monday was the first day to pull petitions for Nov. 3 elections. In Germantown four people said they plan to run for alderman or the board of education. In Collierville, the mayor and two aldermen are seeking re-election.
