Three generations of the Jones family have worked for Sissy’s Log Cabin, a family-owned-and-operated jewelry business born more than 50 years ago inside an actual log cabin in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
Iris 2008 and Iris 2023 are just not the same thing, maybe not even kissin’ cousins. It’s been 15 years and many changes, and what happened when Iris moved to Laurelwood is precisely what should have happened: It’s become a new restaurant.

Iris’ bar is open daily, from 11 a.m. to at least 10 p.m., and the star of the show during a recent visit was executive chef Russell Casey’s shrimp toast.
After months of supply-chain delays, Restaurant Iris opens Monday, Oct. 3 in its new, redesigned and much larger space in Laurelwood; meal services will phase in over the coming weeks.
Five years ago, Novel opened out of the ashes of The Booksellers at Laurelwood. Since that time, it’s continued to connect with the community.
