Welcome to Table Talk, The Daily Memphian’s weekly food and dining newsletter for subscribers only.
Relocating to Memphis has been a culture shock in a variety of ways. From hearing the blues blasting from the windows of cars driven by people who don’t fit my stereotypical idea of a Southern soul fan (it seems like everybody listens to the blues down here), to the language, food, and pace of life. No place on Earth is like Memphis.
Because of this, I was really confused when the latest festival popped up on my calendar. Call it customs confusion.
