Three events on Saturday and the inaugural Craft Food & Wine Festival on Sunday promise some good times all around town this weekend.

A parade for the Downtown Olympics starts at 11 a.m. Saturday at Carolina Watershed, 141 E. Carolina, and ends at Loflin Yard. Once there, five teams will compete in a variety of events like corn hole, beer pong, a tricycle race and a drinking relay that starts at the Blue Monkey and goes to The Arcade, The Vault, and back to Watershed before ending at Loflin.

The final event of the day is synchronized drinking, a song-and-dance riff on the Olympic swimming event. It's a free event and the public is welcome to come out and watch the competition; most of it will be at Loflin Yard, 7 W. Carolina.

In Midtown on Saturday, Celtic Crossing is holding a gin festival that includes 19 gins from eight countries. It starts when the pub opens at 11 a.m. and goes until the gin is gone.

Gin is on the verge of exploding here and has already done so in Ireland, the home country of Celtic owner DJ Naylor. He said pubs and bars everywhere have gin flights, and he’s hosting this party to give Memphians a taste of some old favorites and some new and unusual gins.

He’s got a nice plan, too. When you arrive, you’ll be given a tray with three glasses, a big glass of ice and a sheet of tasting notes. You pick three gins and your mixer from a choice of juices and Fevertree tonics, then your garnish (limes, lemons, etc.) They’ll pour your gins, and you can go off on your own to enjoy, or ask for some help, which they’re glad to offer.

Be sure to taste the gins straight before adding your ice and mixer, and when you choose your three, ask DJ or one of the bartenders on hand to help you pick three with different flavor profiles.

A full set-up is $18, and you can go back for another three if you want to. Food and live music are available. Twin Soul Duo plays 3-6 p.m., Ian Taylor 6-9 p.m., and DJ Taz is up 9 p.m.-close.

Celtic is at 903 Cooper; call 901-274-5151 for more information.

Agricenter celebrates its 40th anniversary Saturday night with Feast on the Farm. The event is 6-11 p.m. at Agricenter Expo Center and features live music, live and silent auctions, and food from more than 20 local chefs and vendors such as A Moveable Feast, Las Delicias, Corky’s, Babalu, Huey’s and many more. Tickets are $125 and you can purchase them by clicking here

Craft Food & Wine Festival is Sunday

And on Sunday, don’t forget the Craft Food & Wine Festival at The Columns. There are two sessions and a VIP room, but everything is sold out except for the 6:30 p.m. tasting. If you want to go, snag your ticket now.

Thirty-six vendors will offer charcuterie and all the fixins’, beer, cider and wine. When you arrive, you’ll be given a wine glass and a bamboo board (with a notch for your glass, so you can keep one hand free for eating), and you’ll walk around, sampling whatever you want. The vendors will serve directly to your board and if you want more, go back. Build a nice plate, eat, drink, visit, repeat as desired. Buy tickets here
