The Daily Memphian keeps track of notable Group of Five teams each week. Some teams will fall out of the tracker and others will be added depending on the outcome of games played.

The Tigers will play four games in seven days, starting against San Francisco on Thursday, Nov. 21, and continuing with back-to-back-to-back games at next week’s Maui Invitational.

According to KenPom, Memphis’ bench has only totaled 21.8% of the team’s total minutes so far this season. That ranks No. 349 out of 364 Division I teams.

Tippett did a lot of winning. Six state championships and 902 games to be exact. Basketball was important — but not as important as the people who played it.

The Tigers lost the chance to climb its way back as the AAC champion. But if Memphis wins its final two games, history will remember this year as having one of the winningest teams in program history.

Battle for the Bones

The Battle for the Bones is a longtime rivalry between the University of Memphis and the University of Alabama Birmingham. The Tigers claimed the trophy, a bronze rack of ribs, Saturday night. Photographer Wes Hale was there to capture the action.

The seniors led the way as Memphis smoked UAB in the Battle for the Bones in front of an announced crowd of 24,225 fans at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium.
