Memphis allowed 3-9 Temple 465 yards and some really big plays, but the Tigers still have a chance for a 10-win season.

“He’s definitely one of the best players to come through the university, for sure,” Tigers coach Penny Hardaway said of David Jones after Jones’ 36-point performance against No. 20 Arkansas on Thursday.

David Jones finished with 36 points on 10-14 shooting (4-8 from 3) to go with four rebounds and two assists to help the Tigers defeat the 20th-ranked Razorbacks in the semifinals of the Battle 4 Atlantis.

Here is the box score for the game between the University of Memphis Tigers and Arkansas Razorbacks in the semifinals of the Battle 4 Atlantis on Thursday, Nov. 23, in the Bahamas.

The NBA approved the hardship roster spots after Memphis had five injured players ruled out over the next two-plus weeks, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reported and The Daily Memphian confirmed.

It’s college basketball “Feast Week,” which means NBA scouts will be spread all over the country digesting Thanksgiving Week hoops. 

Whether it's the Military Bowl, Fenway Bowl or even the AutoZone Liberty Bowl, the Tigers could face their first postseason Power 5 opponent since 2019. 

Memphis and Arkansas will renew an old rivalry in the Bahamas. The last time the two teams met was in January 2003.

Ex-Grizzly Dillon Brooks wasn’t a factor offensively, but the Grizzlies struggled to score and suffered a blowout loss to the Rockets anyway.
