After 40 years, beer rules are changing in Collierville

The Collierville Board of Mayor and Aldermen updated the town’s beer laws Monday night, Aug. 25, to align with modern practices, the change taking effect immediately.
For four decades, minor amendments have been made, but the vote makes the rules relate to the times. The change removes outdated rules regarding distance from schools and churches, the percentage of sales that must come from food and removes the ban on selling beer at venues with dancing and pool tables.
