During the early days of Petals of a Peony’s first area location, in Cordova, general manager Bo Zou remembers thinking the restaurant’s staff wouldn’t have jobs for very long after a lunch shift with only 10 customers.
But soon after, Executive Chef Mingwei Dai joined the team, and Memphis foodies began to share the story of the new, authentic Chinese restaurant in town.
On Monday, Nov. 3, that story got louder as Petals of a Peony was recognized during a Michelin Guide ceremony as one of the company’s 2025 Recommended restaurants in the American South. To read more on the ceremony, click here.
