After a steep drop in 2025, new home starts picking up in Lakeland

The new year is starting off a little busier than a year ago for home builders and developers in Lakeland.

New home sales significantly dropped during 2025 in the suburb compared to 2024, according to statistics from the Memphis Area Association of Realtors.


From New Canada Road to The Lake District, 2026 set to be a big build year for Lakeland and Bartlett


New homes sales year-to-date for November 2025 totaled only 16 compared 43 during the same span during 2024. At the same time, the average price per new home jumped 2.8% to $653,487.
