Jennifer Chandler
A cookbook author and former restaurateur, Jennifer Chandler has been writing about food and dining for more than 25 years.
She is the author of four cookbooks: “The Southern Pantry Cookbook,” “Simply Salads,” “Simply Suppers,” and “Simply Grilling.” While she boasts a degree from Le Cordon Bleu, this Memphis native is about making real food accessible for real families.
When I walked into the front door of the new Felicia Suzanne’s restaurant a few weeks ago, my jaw dropped. The restaurant is stunning.
You open the front door at 383 S. Main and step into a velvet curtain-lined vestibule. As you walk farther in, your eyes are drawn to the gilded bar with its purple-veined marble top. Then you look to the left and see the red, curved banquettes that sit along a wall of antique mirrors and the historic 1920s building’s original brick.
As the host walked us through the bar area, two pocket doors opened to reveal the main dining room is a differently designed space. High-gloss paneled walls, a white oak coffered ceiling and modern-looking custom lights help create a cozy and intimate dining space.
