Food pop-ups keep popping up

In early June, South of Beale’s East Memphis location offered a Bangkok Alley pop-up.
The two restaurants have the same parent company and, even though they are only about 11 miles apart via Poplar Avenue, the pop-up’s 144 seats were reserved within days of the announcement.
“We announced it maybe two weeks in advance, thinking we would need that much time to get the word out,” co-owner Ed Cabigao said. “I guess that’s the power of social media.”
